This poem is based on a mist that stretches over a forgotten village where people are poor and hungry. It looks at the devastation that is filling the air and how it is up to us to help those in need.

A dark mysterious cloud glazes the morning sun. Thick as the lungs of young children filled with smoke and dust. The smell lingers through the  street, a smell so rotten that birds fall from the sky, dead without a trace. The atmosphere is cold and sad, the children play no more just sit and beg helpless and forgotten. The dark mist continues it's journey through the village, a village once vibrant with colour and laughter is now a souless, helpless piece of trash. How have these people being forgotten, not remembered for their plight, for their suffering, for their fight to remain human. How sad to see a child come up to you and beg for money not being in school. This is the black mist that has blinded our eyes and our hearts. We are so content with our lives that we have forgotten those who need our help the most. Let us break free from this mist and breath life back into the souls of others.
