Surrealistic serenity

Creeps and hovers over me.

From the tip of my head to the ends of my feet

There’s no way to describe it accurately.

Pain from a prick, leads to immediate relief

A calm, a warmth, the ability to breathe

Surely but slowly it brings me to sleep

It’s a sad fucking state but at least I don’t weep

...

Until it’s gone and I plead!

Itches under my sleeve

My veins suddenly scream

They know what they need

They beg me to feed them

I tie up so I can see them

I squeeze down, I pull back

And drift off into black

But temporarily I’m free

After some bad company

And until my next spree,

Say goodbye to the needle
