A book a day” he told himself
I’ll read, I’ll read” his eyes then fell
From cover to cover
Chapter to chapter
Filled with fear or laughter
“I’ll read them till my final breath”
A book, a book” it’s all he said
No need for new technology
This man knew books were his philosophy
He read from daybreak till the stars come out
For reading was the only thing keeping him around
And when he spoke his final words he then said…
I’ve read a thousand books, yet I’ve yet to find true happiness
He laid down his book, he had but one page left
And on that page it said…
All of life's answers cannot be found in a book.
