Sonnet 1

Four blank walls

Pressing ever in,

Endless mirrored halls

With toothless spiteful grin.

Stagnant gripping sand

Hold away the flood,

For what shine has land

When painted dark with mud.

Rush in paper souls

Steal away the chase,

Make flippant all such roles

So frilly then the lace.

Hush, the dreamer wakes

Blind of the nightmare he makes.
