not about monsters or something... just about the person the storyteller blames for the departure of a loved one.

I look
I see the monster
That drove you away
The beast
That took you from me
Caused you leave
I hate her!
You’re gone
From my life
Swallowed by the night
Because of whom
I see
You left me
Took my heart
Squished it into that
Faded brown suitcase
Between your possesions
You ripped me apart
When you ran
So I blame her
The one I see
Before me
I hate her
I don’t know what to do
So I turn away
Turn away
From the mirror…

Nice little critique of a self image that is not liked. Nice twist ending. Good work
