An old warrior sits alone,
Bloodied, broken, far from home,
For what he thought was sanctuary,
Was just another battlefield.

He fought and endured through it all,
And once again he did not fall,
And once he has rested enough,
He begins the search once more.

He skirts along desolation,
His only company isolation,
Ever hopeful that he'll find,
A true sanctuary.

The endless search has left him worn,
His bones are cracked and his skin torn,
But still he hopes that he'll be seeing,
A place to live without fearing.

The world is dark and the future unclear,
But he will always presevere,
For one day he'll be sure to find,
The loving arms of sanctuary.
