This article is abput the symbolism and story of the Phoenix. The story of the Phoenix is an ancient Greek myth or allegory. In the story, the Phoenix is a bird who periodically sits in its nest, and then dies and burns, with ashes as the only thing remaining of the Phoenix.  But, there is more.Soon the Phoenix rises of the ashes and is reborn.

The symbolism of the Phoenix myth is important. You see, the myth of the Phoenix sybolizes ressurection, or even reincarnation of the bird. The idea of reincarnation is also found in Greek philosophy, as discussed by  Plato and/or Socrates in the last chapter of  Plato's Republic.  This reference in Plato makes it more likely that reincarnation is the better interpretation of the rising of the Phoenix out of his own asher from a previous life.
