background:

I

Grief, shock, disgust - in that order - the cycle unceasing continues, till this pot made of the finest clay falls apart into pieces. A hand, not by propitiation, but one that hearkens to my desolation, reassembles the pieces and conceals therein the ever resplendent, yet incinerating grace.

II

Far beneath the childlike countenance, yet self-evident disposition, in the depths of the stone-cold heart, she nurtured a dream - a dream to die a terrible death. The day the dream called out to her, the path was paved - neat, unobstructed - for this lifetime to tread upon.  Then on, each place she went, each house she lived, each picture she drew, each word she spoke , each song she sang, and each friend she made, took her, meticulously to the plan, a step closer to that dream.

III

But along the road, as the design would have it, each time the dream was just about to be attained, I found her, grabbed her by the arm, cast over her a spell that unsettled her serenity, invoking in this transience all those flesh-eating minions from down under to rear back in profound vengeance. [Now, forgetfulness isn't any virtue.] Her body began to tremble, sleep eluded her. The insatiable hunger took control.

A time for great changes has eventually come – she has risen, chosen to fight: she wins or she is slain - either way attains Heaven. If this time, the last time, she runs or hides, the great depths become her destiny. The adversary this time is the past, oh Lord, the baleful old!

IV

The agony was rather quick to abate. That's when she turned to him, and the words of his heart, pure as the clarified butter and the essence that go into the sacrificial fire, began to flow:

On this day, upon the auspices of this moment, as the darkest night meets day, I set the old order ablaze, and cast into these flames dreams of all the beauty and fragrance that eclipse the setting sun. All the happiness and the strength that turn hope to frailty. Longings that sow seeds of bitterness, and conduct the burden and the disgrace…
