never be castrated by short attention spans
or whims and fancies.
never lose your self-respect in gleaming hopes
of potentialities.
it is a tragedy to assume or perceive through your
heart and desires
as the cattle prod connects with your gut
and validates your fears.
shut that window and door into your soul
for mystical experiences are the devil's gold
not given or forgiven if you care enough.
savour that cattle prod sensation
even village idiots get to come out
and play once in a while.
and so i play.
