bludgeoned forgiveness
will be my cup for the day
it will be my comfort and my redemption
for the moments when i am inhumane
in my fullness.
i circumcise the part of me that is newly joyful
for the breath of a being that i cannot hold
as it is not mine.
i will wrap it all up in brown paper
and treat it like a bag of greasy chips
tasty but they say not good for me.
because if it inspires me
to be a rocket that takes off upward and onward
into a horizon of the ever magnificent space
they say it must be garbage.
