A A A

the voice said softly
you foolish foolish man
of beggared dreams and unkempt desires
why do you not drown yourself away
no pain no pain forever
does that not beckon you?
then the voice got louder and repeated itself
repeated its questions, its hounding, its grinding
in me, all i could hear was it.
and i restrained myself
i hailed myself with torment and gall
to not silence that voice forever
and then the voice said to me
you're alone now. your lies, your pacifications,
your truths.
you're alone now.
so what do you hear?
