LIFE WARRANT

This poem is for my son

James D. Wallace

Born August 13, 1972

Shot to death June 5, 2000

A MUCH BETTER PLACE

When your spirit departed

My spirit became broken hearted

I said "Damn"

Your death is such a loss and waste

Because your personality and talent is very rare

And you're leaving me son; this I really can't bear

But I know the Creator has put you in a much better place

The Creator has called you back home

And on this Earth you will no longer roam

But deep within me, your memory will never be erased

While here on Earth, your spirit was always on the run

Now your soul has been to rest by the violence of the gun

But I now the Creator has put you in a much better place

James D. Wallace; by me and your family, you are dearly missed

But I know where you are now you're in complete and total bliss

And in our hearts you will always have a space

Oh son, my son; Oh how your father loves you so

And it grieves me to the core not being able to continue to see you grow

But I know the Creator has put you in

A much better place

So be it

Your loving father
