This is a letter my addiction wrote to me, since I have stoped using and been in recovery.

LIFE WARRANT

What's up my man Anvil, this is your friend heroin

I just woke up for a minute to see how you've been

Since you've been in your recovery, you put me to sleep

But in your hear, your soul, your mind I will always creep

I know that you still love me, but I never ever loved you

And I plan to destroy your whole world before I'm through

In fact, I hate you so much that it makes me want to scream

I hate your loved one, your hopes, and all your joyful dreams

And now that you've awaken from my never ending nightmare

You feel that your over me, don't think it, don't you dare

Because if you use me again, I will try my best

To end this fight

So remember that

I'm with you until death

And with that I will say

Goodnight

Your old friend

Heroin

Ps. For now my grip may be slowly fading away

But the next time you pick me up, I will make you pay

Wow Anvil! Wow. So, so very sad. Addiction is one of the worst evils. Just as you've said...it is like another entity. Sort of the "devil" on your shoulder taunting, teasing always there...even when you've "conquered" it, you can still here it's whisper. Those who've overcome addition are some of the bravest people I've ever met. Wonderful writing Anvil...I can't wait to check out more of your work!
