Avora's body was braced up against the wall, her back arching in pain as she took a vain attempt to continue breathing. The blood was pooling faster now, pumping vigorously from the wound in her chest. A trace of a whimper escaped her lips as the fight for life slowly ceased, those vived green eyes gradually filling with knowledge of the imminent death before her. It hurt to watch. God, he wished that he could do something, anything to ease the pain. But what could erase the past? That was the price of being Ka'rii. Dahvik risked one last glance back before taking leave, and immediately wished that he hadn't. Her slender body, white like porcelain, lay crooked and lifeless in a plash of deep red blood. Her soft, beautiful face, once full of emotion and life, was now cloaked in the shadowy veil of death that seemed to follow him so often. "I'm so sorry Av...", he whispered under his breath, staring down at the gore-stained dagger clutched in his grip. "...but death is only the beginning."
