Pantoum poem from class

A lighthouse shines in the distance
I can hear the waves crash on the shore
Here I will stand on the cliff
Staring out at the dark horizon to see

I can hear the waves crash on the shore
My dear love has been gone for far too long
Staring out at the dark horizon to see
For it is the ship I long to see

My dear love has been gone for far too long
My heart seems to break in rhythm with the waves
For it is the ship I long to see
I wish to catch a glimpse of his white sail

My heart seems to break in rhythm with the waves
I remember what he said to me:
To know that he is okay is to see his white sail
So here I will wait

I remember what he said:
Nothing will keep us apart
So here I will wait
Through rain or shine

Nothing will keep us apart
I do not care how long it has been
Through rain or shine
I will look for that white sail

I do not care how long it has been
Here I will stand on the cliff
To look for the white sail
With the lighthouse shining in the distance

Thank you. Before this semester at school I hadn't seen this style either.
