I saw a light that ever fades
Upon the world that it pervades.
I watched the sun swirl and dim,
And dye the skies with golden diadems.
I saw the sea stretch his wings
And howl to earth, what'er he brings;
As rushing, flooding lightening caws,
Hikes its heels and digs its paws...
The light like lace set afire
Held a hint of my desire-
Bleeding paper stars so high,
Hummed to me a rotten lullaby...
As day to death, with welcomed arms
And stymied pulse forgot its charms-
Sank below the rippling waves
And slumbered in eternal graves.
