She never believed in black cats or salt over the shoulder. She wasn't even sure if you threw salt over your shoulder to ward off bad luck, or if you did it at weddings. It didn’t matter, she didn’t have many fears, only one, and she didn’t believe in all this luck stuff to stop it. The only reason she’d touch wood was if she could use it to bash the thing. She didn’t think she’d need salt on that Halloween day but when the first trick-or-treater arrived she was covering herself in it.
“Hello, what are you?”
“A vampire.”
