this poem is basically a rant about knowing that a silent person can talk but chooses not to. Is afraid to

You think I don’t know I have a voice
That I don’t know I have a choice
My ideas die once they reach my lips
But they are always there
They just flow through my finger tips

My throat wants to be used
But that’s something I can’t do
I don’t like talking
Writing is so much easier

I can create the person I want to be
But I can never follow through…

I’d like to throw away my insecurities
But they come from years of emotional self defence
Making people smile is what I do
Even when I feel so see through

I know what I have to do.
Years of ignoring my need to talk
Has made it hard to suddenly do
I am trying
I’m starting to scream
Instead of silently crying
I’m starting to talk
Hey! I’m starting to shout
But please
This is one of those things I won’t “talk” about.
