My heart broke the day I got home

I watched it fall into a million pieces

Scattered all over the floor I think it will take forever

For me to find all the pieces.

If only you were still here

If only I felt you were still near.

I feel you aren't gone

But the pain comes when I realize you are

You are gone and nothing will change that fact.

If only you knew how much pain you would have caused

You probably wouldn't have left.

The pain you caused me is only dulled

But it will come back

It's like a stab wound

The pain is there initially

Then it dulls and gets numb

But the sharp pain comes back worse than before

I wish you weren't gone so things could be somewhat normal

I wish you hadn't willingly left

Words alone cannot convey my hurt

While I wish you were here I'm wasting away

My feelings are disappearing

Soon my heart will follow

I slowly die a little inside every day

When we meet again I hope you're not sad

So I can smile and hope we never have to be apart again.
