I comment on my mently growing up. (this is sort of like what happened to me, only I don't have an old barbie, I have a little toy dog who I haven't abandoned [Maybe cause he always looks so sad])

Barbie doll

I have a little Barbie doll,

A old and dirty thing,

It sits upon my shelf all day,

Smiling.

An relic of an ancient day

A year or two ago,

When all I thought of the earth was good,

Innocent.

It saw all my petty little sorows

All my tiny griefs

And my angelic happiness, my youth,

Blooming.

Those days were only two years past,

Yet they seem like a dream

And the doll: she saw it,

All.

If I asked her,

Maybe she would tell me

Tell me about those days

All surrounded by a veil

In Memory.

Then came a time when all friends left,

And I left her, my doll, for her great mocking look,

She was happy and I in grief,

Mourning.

Now I know even that grief was small,

With new wisdom from two years of knowledge,

Two? They might have been a hundred:

I grew.

Now it seems all's been refreshed,

My old life is as a story

But still I see through the veil

By means of one portal,

My doll.

**********************************************************

When I see this in ten years I'll probably wonder why I thougth myself mature now(: Seriously thought, I have really matured over the past two years, and the promt "Barbie doll" helped me put these feelings on paper (or computer, or whatever).
