A poem I'm really rather proud of it was the first thing I ever wrote that I felt I didn't have to throw away.

Petals swirling through the mist

Seeking some forgotten heavenly kiss

Land upon my shoulder

Seeking to make me colder

As they despair of growing older

Of turning to dust

As they know they must

Even if it is not just

Railing against their demise

Even as I surmise

That it is not death they despise

But those who will forget

And indeed those who will not regret

There passing in the mist
