As I stand here on this horrid night

Sand is all that's in my line of sight

My orders are in and must be followed through

Lord help me and guide my bullets true

The thought of what I must do now

Thinking of morals and how they're forced south

The taking of a life is not an easy thought

When you're raised to believe that you should not

You're taught to obey parents without borders

Now you're a good soldier, just follow orders

To think of the lives that are now inturrupted

I feel a volcano within has erupted

Not just then men were holding arms against you

But the women and children too

At times it seems that its too much to bear

When I run my fingers through my own child's hair

To think of what I've done in the name

For a poor Commander and Chief who was seeking fame
