a dream

A  DREAM

I had a dream

That I was a dove

Flying high

In the skies above.

The skies are blue

Fields are always green

Everywhere you look

Air is fresh and clean.

The warm orange of the evening

setting upon the trees

Everything goes back to sleep

The rabbits, Squirrels and bees.

The next morning is a rainy day

Covered with the weather of May

Till the clouds part and sun shines through

Hoping I could watch a sun set with you.

The next day is the fourth of July

My the year is flying by

Up in the sky

Rockets go sailing by.

The next is Halloween

Everyone is dressed as warlocks, goblins, or snow white queen

And it is all quite a scene

Even the wicked witch is green.

The next day is thanksgiving

And boy I’m thankful to have you

Don’t wonder if I mean what I say

Most assuredly I do.

The next day its Christmas

And it’s covered with snow

Perhaps a snowman or snowball fight could make you happy

Or Santa coming to say ‘ho, ho, ho.’

And so the year begins again

The warm days of spring are so serene

Like heaven above is so pristine

But it’s only, but a dream.

Wow!! This is amazing!! I love the imagery that you used to describe everything and I especially admire how you began with a dove, which is symbolic of peace, flying through a peaceful paradise like state of the world. Well done!!
