Down in the meadows, so misty at dawn,

i saw in the distance, the sun being born,

as i lay there a watching alone as i was,

the world was awakening because of because,

far in the distance i saw a tractor been driven,

and up in the sky i saw birds flying toward heaven,

as the sun rose and the warmer it became,

i knew just then i would lie here again and again,

another day another tomorrow,

now i know i can live through my sorrow,

for alone i will lay and alone i will stay,

but i will always have yesterday, tomorrow and today,

for today is my last on this earth,

it is to heaven i fly with all my worth,

for it is up in heaven that i will find myself,

that even dying alone i will have a friend in heaven.
