Eagles of Words
No more will our words be held un-praised.
By this moment I swear on ever turning world
That I, on all I am, will stand on knees ungrazed
And protest the truth in our views: Not killed,
But alive with simple, biased opinion, and humble
Acceptance of errors; common in the voice of youth.
Such vision not drowned out by the constant rumble
Of what stands fast and is widely accepted as ‘true’.
Wherein, the freedom of interpretation
Will not stand to punish our mistaken lines
But, in essence, exist to commend our variation
From all that is set in stone in constant minds.
I ask if now these words of covet lace only the floor;
Allowing skies the vacancy for eagles of words to soar.
