Some people claim I hit rock bottom last year. In my defense, I believe I had just started living. The life I knew before the summer of two thousand and nine had disappeared; Vanished into a cloud of dust, never to be resurfaced. Many things happened to me my sophomore and junior year in school. I had fallen in love with Michelle's son. If you know Michelle, you know her last name is Fricker. And if you knew that, you most likely knew that my mom hated that famly. She never cared for them like I did. She never once gave any of them a chance to be accepted into my family.
It was December twenty first, Whitney, Hannah, and I were all waiting patiently for Hannah's eldest brother, Aaron, to arrive home. He was flying in from Pennsylvania to visit his mother and friends. We were all sitting around having a good laugh, when the car pulled up in the drive. We greeted him with hugs and smiles; Soon after, Hannah and Whitney went to the local bar to play pool. I stayed behind with Aaron and David. We mostly played on the computer, hardly passing any words.
I stared at the clothes Aaron was wearing for a good thirty minutes before I decided he looked rediculously cute. He was wearing an oversized red polo with a pair of silver pants. His shoes were the old school white tennies; and placed in his right hand was a lit Newport cigarette. He had deffinately changed since the last time I had seen him in grade school. Back in school, I used to have a crush on him. Well, I figured that little crush would have vanished long ago, but in reality, it was stronger than ever.
David, Aaron, and I went for a walk to the store. Nothing much was happening and everything seemed sort of dull. Someone had to liven up the moment with some sort of joke. I was falling behind while David and Aaron were tripping on their own tongues tying to speak over each other. I stopped and called Aaron's name. He turned and looked at me. I smiled and said, "I bet you could fit me in those pants with you.." then I let out a little giggle and kept walking.
I knew I had him in the palm of my hand already. We walked to the bar, where we met up with Whitney, Hannah, and a few of their friends. Aaron and I were sitting in the front enterance of the bar, listening to his IPod Touch. The only kind of music on it was rap, and back then, I did not like that music. I was more into the rock metal. Boy, the saying is true that opposties attract.
Aaron and I really hit it off that night. We had fun conversations being repeated, but it was worth getting grounded for coming home at two in the morning. Aaron had walked me home that cold night and gave me his sweater; little did we know that him walking me home, wouldn't stop for over two years. I left him that night with nothing more than one simple kiss on the lips.
