Ah! what a fascinating poem!!

This is a poem where the poet is asking god to free this world from all kinds of difficulties and evil spirits such as terrorism etc etc.....

Meanings

Deity- God
Efface- remove, erase
Defiled-impure, polluted
quest- search
goofy-silly, foolish
hum-hesitation, doubt
fettle-condition
plume-feathers
blobs- drops
ere-before
filch-steal something(in this poem- take away bad people)

NOTE

lisle plumes- refers to the clouds, which in poem line simply means that god i floating on the smooth silky clouds.
golden blobs- refers to rain drops
eerie souls- bad people

Just once before my eyes appear oh! deity

And efface this eerie greet forever.

This defiled world is in quest of you,

Once appear and efface this goofy fettle

When piped is this world by fiend shadow

With what hum thee floating on those lisle plumes!

Come along those golden blobs from the silvery clouds

And bedeck this world beautiful as ere

Filch away those eerie souls that dwell here

And make this world joyous forever

Just once before my eyes appear oh! deity

And efface this eerie greet forever
