In the eyes of her parents Elliott Tremaine is a spoiled, inconsiderate child. So terrible is she that they send her away to her cousin in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Under Schuyler Locke's influence they hope to break their daughter's will and make her the perfect child. But a taste of freedom won't be giving her parents the result they so desire. Just the opposite, once Elliott knows what it is like to get out from under the guidance of her strict mother and harsh father she discovers herself, meeting a few friends her parents won't quite include as 'good company'. Well, that is called irony, now isn't it?

Her parents may be unhappy but Elliott is down right ecstatic. Well, at first. As time progresses and Elliott becomes more comfortable with her new life she notices what everyone else were oblivious to. Various things happen to her, including realizing the fact that she has an extrordinary gift. However, it does not end there. Elliott makes friend with a motley group of kids and comes to discover they have hidden gifts of their own. It seems Mt. Vernon is a place with too many secrets to count for Elliott's liking. Hopefully her curiosity and nosiness doesn't get her in trouble- or worse.

Note: Some may notice this story. That is because it was previously post on here more than a year or two ago by my previous account. I lost my password and gave up on the story. However, I have returned, and plan to pick up where I left off.
