Happy Holidays?

By: Joe Attanasio

Hi, did you have a nice holiday?

This is a friendly thing to say

Take a good look behind thier face

You may see a hint of disgrace

Some people carry unpleasant baggage

Their feelings are hard to gage

Holidays makes their baggage heavier

Emotions that are strong, get blurred

Perhaps a hurting heart

For one who had to depart

A loved one no longer around

Brings their mood way down

They might be too poor to give

This  makes them sad to live

They cry when they see people happy

Others joy makes them feel crappie

Don’t assume them happy to be

They may not want you to see

The holidays bring them pain

Live becomes a strain

Ask these people how they feel

Let them know your cares are real

Maybe you can fill a gap

Make them feel less like crap
