When I am outside,
Soccer is my escape.
I am confident that when I start to play,
My worries will coast away
Like a car with no brakes.
Even if it’s only for
A limited time, I can still
Count on those insignificant minutes of bliss.
The madness of life evaporates
Like rain.
It is just the ball, the field; and me
And when my ball strikes the net,
I cannot even begin to describe
That miraculous feeling.
Those who surround me do not
Understand.
They cannot grasp how each time I shoot,
It is as if I am propelling my problems away.
When I am outside,
Soccer is my escape.
