Risen

I saw the buildings falling down

And felt the shaking ground beneath my feet

Just before it got loud it was quiet without a sound

Shoving the crowd out of the way to ensure my safety is seek'd

Irony is no match for the fate that I find profound

The fire that has risen must've came from somewhere deep

The waves crashing against the shore reflected the red clouds

And the people in their slumber may die in their sleep

I saw the events take place and felt the sympathy by the pound

If we deserve what is coming to us I deny the ability to weep
