A lonely girl stood there

In a orchard of grapes

She walked along the rows of wine

Picking leaves from each unique vine

She stared off into the horizon

Wondering what life had in store

There were places and things

She wanted to explore

As she wandered to the apple grove

Slipping a grape between her lips

To taste their bitter juice

She stopped a moment to stare a bit away

There stood a man of her age

Picking an apple from a tree

And he gave a wicked smile

Charmingly dangerous was what she could see

He offered a hand to her

She felt her heart beating fast

Like a poison without a cure

He was a dream that she couldn’t cast

But somehow he was there

And suddenly life wasn’t fair.

Quicker than a flash

And arrow pierced his heart

She cried out in horror and reached for his hand

As he fell away to depart

She felt the tears sting her eyes

Cursing the world for all it’s lies

Crimson drops streaked her cheeks

Love is all she truly seeks

And now that Angel she met so fast

Was gone and dead

Without a single word said.
