i've traded forward motion for perpetual chaos,

i'm still moving but where am i going,

two steps forward,

one huge step back,

the step of a giant,

so child,

be weary,

mind the pitfalls,

and do try not to get underfoot,

it would be unfortunate to learn your lessons that way,

and so it was i later found out,

it was a terrible lesson to learn,

that there was no safety,

no safety at all,

not even comfort,

nothing to do but move on

down this path i chose what seems like so long ago,

i can't remember why,

what the hell was i thinking,

now instead of shelter,

there's just this bed i made,

instead of warmth,

i find longing.
