Summary

Life is meant to be an unknown adventure; but some unfortunate few want to know the path ahead.

Inspired by clip art I ran across.
I often find inspiration while browsing through clips.

She sat in a dimly lit room; her face wrinkled; nails painted red;

Madam Celeste her name, fortune teller; contactor of the dead

Bade me sit across from her; lighting candles to cleanse the air

In front of her, a crystal ball sat on a golden stand for her to stare

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nervously I waited as she chanted some words only known to her
Preparing for the visions; their revelations her words began to stir
It seemed the crystal ball was glowing now; much to my surprise
both her hands on either side the globe; then with piercing eyes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Madam Celeste peered deep; my fortune to capture and reveal.

First the words she spoke were well received; of a heart I’d steal

Then her mood became somber, as she gazed into the abyss.

“Some things one should never know; before it’s time dear Miss;

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The crystal ball flickered; as if spirit’s presence attempted flight;
It then glowed dimmer till for a moment; stopped projecting light
Perhaps you’d like to know; if riches come, I can foretell that.”
Perplexed, she refused to tell me what she saw before; I sat
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Asking her to relent, share what was to come; she shook her head.

For a time you’ll know much joy and love; but soon you will be dead.

Blood rushed from my brain; why had I made her share such news;

Now I am doomed to fear; to wonder what day my life I’ll lose

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Never ask your fortune told; ignorance is better than knowing more!
