This is darker than most things I write, but it came to me one night and decided to share it.

It was promted by hearing the quote at the end of my poem.
as I was watching "Criminal Minds"

You never know where inspiration will come from!

Comfort for the Living, Given By the Dead

Lay me down in a satin bed

place a pillow beneath my head.

Dress me in my very best,

hands folded across my chest.

Every hair combed in place,

soft pink blush upon my face.

~~~~~~~~~~
Though life for me isnow finished;
My spirit can never be diminished.
Embedded within your brain,
images of me do you sustain.
~~~~~~~~~

Flawless wilI I in mind dwell,

in all sweet stories that you tell.

Mistakes I made are never said;

kind words are spoke instead.

~~~~~~~~~~
Until your light is extinguished,
Love will not be relinquished.
Once you are no longer here,
to remember me or shed a tear,
~~~~~~~~~~

or need me to ease your pain;

will I leave you, so don't disdain.

Just think of me and I am there;

In the breeze that strokes your hair.

“The life of the dead is set in the memory of the living.”
