Sixteen years old is my car;

no longer shiny like a star.

She coughs when she first starts;

while on the road she often farts.

~~~~~
But she still gets me to and fro;
everywhere I want to go.
She leaks some oil; ok, a lot;
and her tires are pretty shot.
~~~~~

Paint is rusting from the snow;

 her age is starting now to show.

She’s been good car for many years;

now she gets snickers and some leers.

~~~~~
I’ll keep her though; she’s worth the care;
just wish in summer she’d blow cold air.
Can’t seem to junk her, throw her away;
what if my kids did that to me one day?
~~~~~

I’m old too and worse for the wear;

gray’s the color of my once brown hair.

I don’t run as smoothly as I once did;

legs aren’t as strong as when a kid.

~~~~~
There’s more miles left on the tread;
before I’m willing to declare her dead.
As for me, well time will tell;
heart’s still ticking though I look like hell!
~~~~~

So me and my car will stick together;

and carry on in all types of weather.

We may sputter and looks might fade;

but her and me, we’re both well made!
