The stillness of night; is my most sacred time.
No disturbance to steal my thoughts away.
Quiet and surreal in shadowy light define;
the magic of the moon’s tribute to the day.
Some fear darkness as if it comes to harass;
to me it is dear friend; wise in its approach.
Unlike the day, that is loudly bold and crass;
night whispers soft and offers no reproach.
I find it a source of comfort from day’s strife;
to reflect and contemplate on all discontent.
That which the day light brings in all its rife;
night does wipe away; in reverence circumvent.
When moonlight slips into dawn; and wanes;
I linger not behind its exit into light.
A child of the dark I am; and sing its refrains;
as wisdom’s lessons are whispered soft at night.
