“Come into my web,” said the female spider to the fly;
he honored her nice request; though he knew not why.
She was too much a vixen for fly to refuse;
such lovely eyes; along with graceful moves.
Within web of woven strands not unlike silken pearl;
he found it hard to move about; or his wings to unfurl.
“Perhaps you’ll dine with me; it will be a tasty treat.”
Thought the fly, it would be rude refusing food to eat.
“What are we having dear; is it almost ready?”
“Indeed it is sir fly; but only if you hold steady.”
Plunging her fangs into his back; viscously she drank;
till the fly was dry and to the ground beneath he sank.
You may think it cruel; but it is a spider’s personality;
inviting insects to her web; promising them hospitality.
If she invites you to dinner; best decline without delay;
I’m sure the fly would agree; if he was alive to have a say!
