It was when me and my mom were taking a short—45 minute—walk in the park. Her words were devastating. The two words that changed my life forever. I was having a happy day until it happened.

“I’m pregnant,” my mom mumbled. She was quiet, but loud enough that I could here her. The only thing I was thinking was my days of being an only child are over. No more hanging out with mom alone, no more time of my mom spoiling me. Her stupid damn boyfriend. My first instinct was to run. Run home, pack up and leave my mom. I’ll go—oh, I don’t have any friends—I’ll go anywhere but here. So that is what I did. I ran home. I started packing up when my mom burst through my bedroom door, she grabbed me. She held me so close. She wiped my tears of sadness and sorrow. She rocked me back and forth saying “It’s okay. Everything will be okay.”

“NO!” I screamed. “It’s not alright! I hate you! I hate you! No!” My mom’s facial expression was surprised to my reaction. My voice was muffled from my face being pressed against my mom’s sweater. The door bell rang. This was so not the time for a visitor, but I raced down stairs my mom far behind me. I looked through the peep hole and it was mom’s boyfriend—soon to be x-boyfriend—as I swung the door open Maxx—Mom’s boyfriend—was totally awake. Because I screamed in his face and slammed the door. I started thinking We have a chocolate pie in the fridge. So I raced into the kitchen and crashed into the fridge I opened the door and grabbed the pie. I slammed the fridge door, ran as fast as I could to the front door and beat my mom her by 2 seconds.

“Hello,” started Maxx. And before he knew it he had a chocolate pie shoved in his face. I did this because no one could replace my dead father. My mom just lost her boyfriend. I started running up the stairs, my mom close behind. She was furious.

“SAMUEL!” she screamed. “GET BACK HERE NOW!!!” I didn’t look back I opened my door and grabbed my suit case. My mom chased my around my huge room. I got by her and ran. I swiped her credit card off the counter and ran out the door. My mom could kiss this son good bye. And she could cover it up with a beautiful daughter. And if she decided to have sex and birth a third child, I wasn’t going to be there to support her.
