My Friend And Me

there are two friends, who live miles apart after glorious years of friendship embellished with love and it is now they realise that its a relation all about Belief, Trust and Understanding. separation is a trivial thing.

An odyssey rested by eternal seclusion
fantasies and plans a mere illusion
in life we met only to soar
to worlds aloof, sans a common shore.

My red heart, stifling with blues
with goodness hefty over them
in love with fresh air, still peruses
the bygone wind that holds my helm.

Pluck it, you’ll see
my breath will cease
not for brisk blood in veins
but for my dear you estrange.

The old years shall never die
breathtaking were its days
 embraces, tears, smiles of my
beloved in’em stays.

Slips and trips don’t make me sore
nor does the reminiscence of days of yore
but an overturned beetle is much like me
scenting , the veracity
‘ time that slides never revives’

You’re my sun
for you I’ll chase the horizon
seeking what I’ve forever sought.
when with chains of truth, hearts are tied,
it’s amazing to love, with the freedom to love not.

Wow. I agree with Mike Stevens, this poem is really really good. I felt like I was reading straight out of a published book (a GOOD book :)) I really enjoyed it and love your choice of words and sentence structures, gives it the right rythm for the right emotions played. Well done and beautifully written, gets a 'like' from me. Oh and I like your picture too! :) - Sk2093 x

What do I say, Mr. Awaneesh, to such a sentimental poem? It was tremendous. Only one observation; I don’t know how far I am correct, though. I think “afar” would have conveyed the meaning better than “aloof”. You might have had your specific poetic reasons for using that particular expression. I was right when I wrote to you that I have much to learn from you. You got my I LIKE IT.

Mon, February 10th, 2014 1:38pm

well i agree sir, "afar" would have fit just right.
thanks for liking the poem. your appreciation and view really counts.

Wow!!! Now that was a fantastic poem! As others have mentioned in the comments, I loved the originality of this piece, you've obviously spent a lot of time and effort into writing this one. My favourite part of the poem was where you write "You are my sun, for you I'll chase the horizon." I think that is a really powerful part of the poem for me. Absolutely brilliant!! What more can I surely say? Keep up the superb work Mr Awaneesh. :)
