If tomorrow ever comes
leave in your heart a glimmer of hope
that draws in the light
and illuminates the soul

For it will be an instant
and then gone again
to disappear in the realms beyond
for years or worst so for eternity

Will you not regret it then?
that you had no faith
and when light fell upon the heart
in darkness it was consumed and never did reflect back?

And regret does no good
to a reeling, dismal soul
nor does it ever move back time
to relive the moment and put right the wrong

So keep the faith alive
for light shall come
and when so it does
the soul shall not but let it go amiss

For if tomorrow ever comes
and it will indeed
let it not pass in vain
for chances are never too many and never interminate
