For M. I would argue that nothing is the worst feeling there is. (I decided to remove two of the pictures as I felt it made the poem a bit too disconnected.. Instead I put lines to represent the passing of time between verses, so let me know what you like better :)

At first it came

In sorrowful waves

Misery set its aim

On the thing it craves

So fragile here,

She’d break in half

At the tiniest jeer

At the slightest laugh

____________

Now she’s strong

But insecure

The selfish wrong

Is pain’s allure

Silence comes

In deafening voices

Like beating drums

Unthinkable choices

____________

Her eyes are gone

A shell remains

That pushes on

She feels no pain

You could hit her with

The hardest hammer

She would not flinch

Not even stammer

She just wants something real

She just wants to feel

But she feels nothing

She feels no pain
