A Marble Earth

I’m in the pocket of the world
Just a marble that rolls
Picking up specs of dirt
And the shining glint a new shirt

I flow like the water
I fall with the blows
Leaves off my shoulders
How could you give me the cold nose

A rhythmic tide
You wash me in than out
I carry the driftwood
The bat of my battles

A rock hard on the surface
Not all the way through
Break me open crack me in two
You’ll find I’m beautiful on the inside too

The world is changing
For better or worse
I’ll stay the same
My roots are set in time
