Looking Up To You

I always wanted someone to be there

I always wanted someone to look up to

And I know that life isn’t fair

But I don’t really even care

I’m tired of being alone in despair.

It’s not easy to grow up

Even with your parents around

But living as a boy without a father

It’s so tough to stand on solid ground.

I’ve had so many father figures

I’m on a misery-go-round

Two years or so then there gone

I’m still a boy, a spotted fawn.

My mother works her life away

Just to keep us dry through the day

But how am I supposed to have guidance

When I’m all alone in the silence.

A true friend would be nice

I’ve had my share of tools

Using me than leaving me

I have the scars to prove.
