“You’re in a concentration camp. At Auschwitz…” (28)

“There’s nothing to be scared of.” (37)

“The living rejoiced.” (72)

“No one had any strength left.” (75)

“It seemed that an even darker night was waiting for us on the other side.” (62)

“From time to time I would dream of a drop of soup, of an extra ration of soup” (82)

“As if this were a game!” (53)

“And there was plenty to be scared of in those days.” (52)

“In the air that smell of burning flesh.” (21)

“My eyes were open and I was alone-” (50)

“How could I forget that concert, given to an audience of dying and dead men!” (70)

“It was over. But I did not realize it, for I had fainted.” (42)

“Why did I pray?... Why did I live? Why did I breathe?” (4)

“One night- one single night?” (28)

“Work is liberty.” (30)
