Here was a poem I wrote about some of my ex-boyfriends over the years

The Ex-List

When I first met you,
I thought my life was complete.
We went to the prom,
But you didn’t score.
You bought me a car and totaled it.
You’ve given me a ring,
And I declined to accept.

I thought I was in love,
But then I dropped out.

Never date country boys.
They kiss like slobbering dogs,
And tell their life tales.
They smell like gasoline,
As they watch NASCAR on Sundays.

I thought I was in love,
But I dropped out so soon.

I turned for Latin flair,
I thought it was meant to be.
The sex was fantastic.
You had blessed me with two children.
I knew you had an esposa,
But I didn’t care.
You tasted like Corona’s,
But your kisses were divine.

I thought I was in love,
I knew he was the one.

Until one day, you went back home.
You don’t call for your kids,
Nor send any dinero.
If you return,
I don’t care.
You hurt me so much,
I couldn’t dare take you back.

I thought I was in love,
But then I dropped out.
