So, middle school was my personal hell. I was bullied and depressed, etc, etc. This scrapes the surface of how I felt. Enjoy (how morbid)!

Just once

She wanted to feel pretty,
She wanted to feel loved,
For her heart to race,
And face to flush
But, for once, not out of shame
For girls to stop and stare
As a wave of envy swallows them whole.

Just once

She wanted a friend,
She wanted a simple hug
Someone to giggle with
To stay up late with on a Friday night.
Someone to share those icecream binges
And listen as million tears are shed

Just once

But once is one too many...
So she slashed her wrists,
And banged her head.
She tried to set herself free;
For her soul to catch fire
Maybe someone in heaven
Could love her?

Just once

One cut, one gash
One broken heart
One perspective through glassy eyes
All it took was one.
The ebony shadows of hell are chasing her
So she tried to silence his screams...

Just once

Now she's trapped in a box
Stuck six feet under your feet
Where can she go?
Up, down, left, right
She's scared, she's silenced
And she can't escape

Just once

That's all it would've taken:
Just one hug, just one kiss
One person to notice she was still alive
But it's too late now.
One bad day, one deep cut
Mistakes are made
Everything can end if you try it

Just once
