If prayers would make a ladder

And the rungs were made of rain

I would pray to God for a downpour

To bring you back again

The memories you gave us

Your happy smiling face

Are things we will cherish forever

But could never hope to replace

You lived your life with dignity

You were the very best

You toiled for your children all of your life

And now you are at rest

But, no matter how long we've been apart

You remain in all our hearts still

We loved you then, we love you now

And you know we always will
