A Special Christmas Wish

The fire dies down when daylight is gone,

And the elves are real jolly with dance.

But our chimney’s not hot as midnight arrives

And that gives Santa his chance.

Scraping frost off the glass I suddenly see

The fat man with his big bag of toys!

He takes out a book and reads down the page.

He’s looking for good girls and boys!

I lie back in bed with a smile on my face

Since I know that my record is clean.

I picked up my socks and didn’t throw rocks

And never talked back or was mean.

He’ll just dance and he'll sing when he totes up my deeds,

And he’ll leave me a big pile of toys!

Then he’ll write out a note to my mom and my dad,

And tell them I’m the best-est of boys!
