Sometimes there are things that feed you just as well, if not better than food.

Lately I haven’t felt all that hungry;

I see food

And it doesn’t entice me the way it used to

Why?

Because I have found a new hunger

My hunger is for writing –

Anything, from fiction to the truth

From poems to short stories

Wherever I am,

I crave a pen,

Paper,

A keyboard,

Any tools with which I can write

Writing gives me solace—

It fills me up,

From my soul to my head,

Giving me comfort,

Feeding me courage

Pushing me gently forward

I want to keep this kind of hunger forever!

It is like having a shoulder to lean on,

It is like a feast on a table,

Available to me at my leisure,

Any time that I am hungry.
